African culture is rich, diverse and unique. It represents the vast continent that is proud of its art and traditions that have endured through the centuries.

Before colonization, our ancestral cultural art was thriving and perfectly integrated in the population’s daily life but our traditional culture was unknown and closed to the influences of the outside world.

Over the years that followed, many African masterpieces--sculptures, bracelets, potteries, basketry, cloths—regrettably left the continent for museums or private collections.
Through our platform Mlango (‘door’ in Swahili), we would like to open the door to a different picture of Africa. Through the eyes of Africa’s resourceful and brilliant artists, our visitors will learn about unknown and amazing art, culture and traditions of our continent.
